What is Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture provides a mutually beneficial relationship between farmers and the community. In exchange for financial support in the spring from the “shareholders,” (that’s you,) the farmers (that’s us) commit to provide healthy, locally grown food through the growing season. The goal of CSA is to reconnect people with the land that sustains them. Shareholders know how and where the food they eat is grown, they can learn to understand the complexities of providing this food, and can develop a relationship with their farmer.

The CSA arrangement leads to a greater awareness of our interdependence on one another and the land. It helps promote ecologically responsible agriculture. Our farm has the ability to grow and provide food for a number of families while practicing proper land stewardship. It is through the cooperation between farm and community that healthy and sustainable farms become possible.
